Houston We Have A Problem

Normally when you have a bad dream, you can just turn your head or choose to wake up; unfortunately, Dwightmare enthralled NBA fans for 20 long months. It is finally over and Dwight Howard is taking his talents to H-Town. Do the Houston Rockets have a problem? Houston should not have a problem if Dwight can settle down and play the consistent basketball that he exuberated in his Orlando Magic days. Dwight needs to rebuild his reputation, which has taken major hits the last couple of years. This will be his third team in three years, but it will be the best fit for him from a basketball perspective. Dwight should excel with the Houston Rockets for the following reasons: 1. Dwight has an opportunity to grow with a younger team, in fact at age 27 he is one of the oldest player on the Houston Rockets. Dwight likes to clown around and not always take life very seriously. As a younger player he will relate better with the Houston teammates; therefore they will have better chemistry on the court in contrast to his Los Angeles Laker teammates, which were more mature and took life more seriously, especially Kobe Bryant whose personality is as lethal as the Black Mamba. 2. Dwight will receive better coaching in Houston because Kevin McHale’s coaching philosophy is completely compatible with Dwight's basketball attributes. Kevin McHale was one of the best low post players in the NBA; he will design an offense where Dwight will be the focal point of the offense by playing in the post allowing an inside out game with James Harden and Chandler Parsons. 3. Dwight has a teammate, James Harden, who is willing to share the spotlight with him. There will be no ego tripping on the Rockets team. Dwight and James will be able to coexist as a powerful twosome, unlike in LA where Kobe refused to allow Dwight to be the man. With the addition of Dwight Howard, many have propelled the Houston Rockets an elite team within the NBA. Whether the Rockets win a championship or not, Dwight Howard and the Houston Rockets will have sweet dreams for the next four years.
